Asake outshone other artists at the 26th edition of the annual award, including Tyla, BurnaBoy, Davido, Ayra Starr, Libianca, Adekunle Gold, Wizkid, Rema, and Uncle Waffles. The awards are a meaningful acknowledgment of black artists and their contribution to the music scene.

He has enjoyed huge commercial success through a string of hit releases and 2 albums that rocked him to superstar status after the megastar broke into the mainstream with his hit single ‘OmoOpe’ in 2022.

At the awards show, it wasn’t just Asake who triumphed for Nigeria. Gospel singer Samuel Onwubiko, aka Limoblaze, also nabbed the Best Gospel Act award.
