Cute Saint: Telling African Stories Through Fashion

Cute-Saint is an African sustainable genderless brand that tells much-ignored African stories and narratives through colours, textures, shapes, and lines while bridging the gap between luxury and affordability.

Cute-Saint takes pride in creating authentic, edgy designs crafted with locally produced organic fabrics and batiks made by local artisans who have mastered their craft. Each piece from Cute-Saint is created with the environment in mind, as the brand believes that we all have a part to play in making the planet a better place to live.

As an ethical brand, Cute-Saint takes into cognizance the welfare of artisans and adjudges it by the rule of “fair labor”; and also uses the “pre-order” model for sales of products to reduce the amount of waste to be made.

Since the debut of the brand in 2019, the brand has been met with great reception from lovers within and beyond the continent. It has also garnered invitations to showcase at Accra Fashion Week, including debuting at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia, Ghana Menswear Week, Africa Fashion Week London, Fashions Finest Africa, and also Style by Zenith Nigeria.

Founder and Creative Director, Muftau Femi Ajose, started his design career by interning in major fashion weeks in Nigeria, from where he was offered a job as production manager for a fashion house in Lagos. He gathered more experiences over the years, and through his exploration and research, his love for African narratives led to the creation of Cute-Saint.
