The first day kicked off with a workshop session, “From Inspiration to Execution: Leveraging the Power of AI from Design Production, Marketing and Customer Engagement”, moderated by Dara Olayebi and featuring speakers, Scott C. Eneje and Malik Afegbua. The workshop surrounded conversations surrounding leveraging AI and AI powered products in your business as an emerging leather-prenuer. From design ideation, to your marketing strategy and ethical considerations.
The workshop concluded with live demos by Malik and Scott, showing us real-time demonstration of these tools in creating your brand and getting you off the ground quicker.


Following was a break where attendees joined the others in the main hall to feast their eyes on the exhibitors and their fascinating products. It was such a hive of buzz.

The next activity was a conversation panel moderated by Nneka Okekearu, sitting with Samuel Mensah, Shem Paronelli, Demi Samanade, and Dr. Jerry Atang. The conversation was themed on “The leather supply chain: exploring sourcing, manufacturing and market access solutions in Africa”, and the speakers discussed the current situation of Nigeria’s leather sector, with emphasis on the inadequacy of our tannery facilities, the underwhelming ratio of livestock to the percentage of hides produces, and efforts to by the government to empower young entrepreneurs through training.

The next panel session was centred on “Crafting winning Strategies For brand positioning and awareness”, with the CEO of SKOT Communications, Tokunboh George-Taylor moderating, in conversation with former model and founder of Fashion 254, Waridi Wardah . Together, they discussed the importance of finding your own uniqueness as a young entrepreneur, your “DNA”, as you emerge into the business of leather.

The fair was buzzing as attendees came in style, browsing through the stands, exploring beautiful leather pieces and enjoying music from the fire Dj Schulz. There were food, drink and ice cream stands for the hungry guests that wanted to grab a quick bite of some tasties.


The evening culminated in a private cocktail event hosted by Mrs. Femi Olayebi founder of Lagos LeatherFair and Femi Handbags, where she gave a speech, emphasising on the goal of Lagos Leather Fair to take the leather industry to new heights, and a spur to emerging leatherprenuers to continuously improve the quality of their work.


The amazing first day ended with a runway show, with models strutting the runways featuring amazing designs by brands like AABOUX, Blark Mate, Mhose, Nene Yaya, and Femi Handbags.
