FashionEVO is excited to announce its participation in the upcoming Creative Juneteenth event, organised by Subsume Studios in collaboration with Africa Creative Market. This highly anticipated event will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA with the theme “Lagos 2 Atlanta – Cultivating a 50-Year Sister-to-Sister Partnership!”

We will delve into current trends, emerging styles, and how the vibrant fashion scenes in Lagos and Atlanta can influence each other.

Fashion Forward – A Trendsetter’s Dialogue
Focus: This panel will gather leading fashion designers, stylists, and trend forecasters from Lagos and Atlanta. Topics will include:
- Signature styles and aesthetics of Lagos and Atlanta fashion.
- Identifying upcoming trends and potential for cross-pollination.
- Collaborative design projects and fashion shows between the two cities.
Creative Juneteenth, a Subsume initiative, is a creative event that seamlessly blends creativity, technology, and community to foster innovative connections. This year’s edition celebrates the blossoming creativity in the cities of Lagos and Atlanta and strengthens the thriving partnerships between these cultural hubs.
Speaking at the panel would be self-taught illustrator, Okhai Akigbe, known by the moniker, Lean Kid, renowend for his works with prominent brands such as GTB, Hennessy, and Armani. He has also collaborated with leading fashion entities in Africa suhc as Mai Atafo, Lagos Fashion Week and many others.
Joining him at the panel will be Mmakamba Smith, a fashion designer, philanthropist, and founder of Mmakamba, a designer brand. Appointed West Africa (ECOWAS) Youth Ambassador in 2023, her passion and vision has led her to mentoring over a hundred entrepreneurs across different countries in Africa through her foundation, Mmakamba Empowerment Foundation.
