Inside Arivla’s Dazzling ‘Asoebi Party and Fashion Show’

Arivla, the innovative e-commerce platform spotlighting indigenous fashion, hosted its highly-anticipated Asoebi Party and Fashion Show, creating waves across Lagos on Friday, December 13, 2024. Held at The Podium, this glamorous event was themed “Old Money vs. New Money,” providing a colourful celebration that honoured Nigerian fashion, culture, and heritage while offering a vibrant hub for fashion enthusiasts, industry trailblazers, and creatives to connect and ignite inspiration.

In keeping with its captivating theme, the venue transformed into an enchanting homage to Nigerian tradition, complete with a rustic palm wine station that guests into its rich cultural tapestry. Attendees partook in the quintessential Owambe experience reminiscent of traditional Nigerian gatherings, serenaded by a live band that infused the air with soulful Yoruba and Fuji rhythms. An inviting atmosphere was enhanced with flowing offers of palm wine, local beers, refreshing sodas, and delightful small chops, making every moment celebratory.

The fashion show itself saw models stride the runway clad in ensembles drawing influence from the opulence of “Old Money” and the modern edge of “New Money,” turning the catwalk into a vibrant display of creative flair. The theme ignited an elegant sartorial expression among guests, who arrived bedecked in exquisite outfits harmonising with the evening’s refined aesthetic.

Highlighting the talent of Nigerian designers, the show presented breathtaking collections from esteemed names such as Marté Egele, Bibi Lawrence, Nichole Stylish, Black Adudu, Looks Like a Good Man, Essien, and HRH Luxury. Stealing the spotlight, T. Atelier debuted its collection with an avant-garde touch, utilizing an innovative 3D AI display that set a new standard in fashion presentation.

The event also magnified the robust creativity thriving within Nigeria, hosting a diverse exhibition featuring prominent vendors like House of Tara, ATS Spa, Funtok Fabrics, SAS Textiles, Headies by Omah, and Maxdent, among others, each showcasing an array of bespoke designs and cultural artistry.
