Lagos Fashion Week Calls on Fashion Community to #SwapYourStyle for 15th Anniversary Sustainability Initiative
Lagos Fashion Week (LagosFW) is proud to announce the return of its sustainability initiative, SwapShop Lagos 2025, as a feature of its 15th-anniversary celebrations this October.
We are calling on Lagos’s fashion enthusiasts, thrifters, and conscious consumers to join this initiative to reduce textile waste, extend the life of quality garments, and make swapping the new fashion statement.
What is the SwapShop?
The SWAPSHOP is a curated pop-up space during LagosFW designed for community building and conscious consumerism. Participants can trade standout pieces, shop curated racks of pre-loved style, and connect with a community that values creativity and sustainable living.
- It’s More Than a Swap: It’s about building a circular fashion culture through creativity, connection, and conscious style.
- On-Site Service: This year features a Repair Station for quick fixes, such as buttons, hems, and minor tears, extending garment life even further.
How to Participate
Participation is open to Lagos Fashion Week ticket holders only. Spots are limited, and all items are subject to a strict grading process.
The SwapShop Process:
- Register Online: Fill out the form and upload details of your items.
- Approval & Grading: Our team reviews all submissions for quality and suitability (Grade 1-3).
- Drop Off: Bring your approved, clean, and neatly prepared pieces to the hub.
- Get Tokens: Receive one token for each accepted item, redeemable only within its respective quality grade.
- Swap & Explore: Use your tokens to trade for new finds during the LFW event days.
Quality Criteria
We seek Designer pieces, vintage finds, and quality Nigerian labels in excellent, odour-free condition.
We DO NOT accept: Fast fashion, stained, torn, or overly worn clothes.
Any high-quality items that are unswapped after the event will be thoughtfully donated to SwapShop’s post-event community initiatives, further extending their life and maximising impact.
