Lagos Fashion Week Wins 2025 Earthshot Prize for Sustainability Innovation
The Earthshot Prize, the world’s most prestigious and impactful environmental award, has announced its five 2025 Winners.
Home-grown Brazilian talent including talent including Brazil’s most decorated Olympic star Rebeca Andrade and Indigenous environmental activist Txai Suruí announced the £1M prize Winners at the star-studded Awards Night in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The five 2025 Winners – across five Earthshot categories – are: re.green, The City of Bogotá, The High Seas Treaty, Lagos Fashion Week, and Friendship.
Winners were selected from nearly 2,500 nominations across 72 countries.

The world’s most prestigious and impactful environmental award, The Earthshot Prize, announced its five 2025 Winners at a star-studded Awards Night at the iconic Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Awards were hosted by award-winning Brazilian broadcaster Luciano Huck. The night also featured performances from Brazilian queen of pop, Anitta, and global star Kylie Minogue.
The Winners, one in each of the five Earthshots categories, will be awarded £1 million to advance or replicate their work and in recognition of their achievement and potential.
The 2025 Winners of The Earthshot Prize are:
Protect and Restore Nature: re.green, Brazil
Clean Our Air: The City of Bogotá, Colombia
Revive Our Oceans: The High Seas Treaty, Global
Build a Waste-Free World: Lagos Fashion Week, Nigeria
Fix Our Climate: Friendship, Bangladesh

Winners
Lagos Fashion Week was the sole African finalist in this year’s cohort, marking both the first Nigerian initiative and the first platform within the fashion and textile ecosystem globally to receive The Earthshot Prize.
