Titled The Beach is a Contested Playground, Oluwajoba’s series examines the transformation of Nigeria’s coastal landscapes amidst increasing commercialization and privatization. Historically vibrant places of leisure and play are under the microscope, revealing how urban development and exclusive policies erode these communal spaces. Through vivid collages and multilayered compositions, Oluwajoba invites us to reflect on how access, ownership, and capitalism redefine our opportunity to experience joy and freedom.
