In a vibrant celebration of culture and fashion, the ancient city of Abeokuta became the epicenter of artistic expression as Egbaliganza 2025 unfolded at the Alake’s Palace. The event attracted thousands of culture enthusiasts, industry leaders, and dignitaries from across Nigeria, each eager to experience this unparalleled showcase.

The prestigious gathering was honoured by the presence of His Excellency, the Governor of Ogun State, as well as former President Olusegun Obasanjo, prominent Egba chiefs, and cultural luminaries such as Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD). Esteemed business moguls and leading designers also attended, underscoring Abeokuta’s position as a bastion of cultural heritage.
Organized by Osi Apagun Lai-Labode, PhD, and the Lai-Labode Heritage Foundation, in collaboration with the Lisabi Group, Egbaliganza 2025 was a splendid tribute to the enduring legacy and vibrance of Egba heritage.
The evening’s highlight, the “Walkway of Kings,” was a majestic display of Yoruba excellence. Notable Egba figures and business leaders paraded with a profound pride in Yoruba fashion and history, leaving the audience in awe and setting a new benchmark for cultural storytelling.
In his address, Osi Apagun Lai-Labode highlighted the economic potential embedded in cultural preservation. “Adire is not just fabric; it is a billion-naira industry waiting to be fully harnessed. Egbaliganza is not just a festival; it is an economic and cultural movement.”
With an artful blend of traditional and contemporary designs, captivating performances from top Yoruba musicians, and an immersive dive into Egba culture, Egbaliganza 2025 proved to be a powerful testament to heritage-driven innovation.
