Lagos Cocktail Week

Lagos Cocktail Week (LCW) returns for its 12th edition from October 16–23, 2026

Lagos Cocktail Week (LCW) returns for its 12th edition from October 16–23, 2026, bringing together bartenders, bars, brands and hospitality professionals from across the continent for a week-long celebration of cocktails, creativity and cultural exchange. It all builds up to the highly anticipated Cocktail Village, a two-day finale on October 22 and 23, at Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel VI, Lagos.

Under the theme “Africa Pours into Lagos,” this year’s edition will see Lagos become a meeting point for some of West Africa’s most exciting bar talent, as bartenders from Abidjan and Accra arrive in Lagos for collaborative guest shifts and bar takeovers, while Nigerian bartenders travel in the opposite direction to showcase Lagos cocktail culture in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana.

More than a celebration of cocktails, LCW 2026 will spotlight the people, flavours, techniques and hospitality cultures shaping Africa’s evolving bar scene, creating opportunities for bartenders and industry professionals to exchange ideas, build relationships and introduce audiences to drinking experiences from different parts of the continent.

At the heart of this year’s edition is the Continental Guest Shift Exchange, designed to bring African bar communities closer together. Bartenders from Bissa and Noom in Abidjan, alongside Front/Back Accra and Number 19 in Accra, will travel to Lagos for guest shifts and collaborative experiences with Nigerian bartenders.

The exchange will also travel beyond Lagos, with Nigerian bartenders heading to Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana to take over participating bars and introduce new audiences to the creativity and energy of Lagos’s cocktail scene. Through the initiative, LCW aims to create a two-way movement of talent, ideas and experiences across African cities, placing collaboration at the heart of the continent’s growing bar culture.

Another major addition to LCW 2026 is the Lagos Bar Show, a new flagship experience replacing the festival’s traditional Bar Hop. Designed to give the continental guest exchanges a stronger platform and identity, the Lagos Bar Show will pair visiting bartenders with local talent for one- to two-hour takeovers at selected Lagos venues.

For guests, each takeover will offer an opportunity to experience another African city without leaving Lagos. Through cocktails, ingredients, techniques, music, hospitality and the personalities behind the bar, audiences will experience elements of the distinct bar cultures of Lagos, Accra and Abidjan, turning participating venues into spaces for cultural discovery and exchange.

LCW 2026 will also bring together voices from across the hospitality ecosystem for an industry-led conference exploring the ideas, trends and conversations influencing the future of Africa’s cocktail and bar industry.

The programme will include a gastro-mixology session led by Chef Gibbs, alongside a bar-industry panel convened by bar consultant Zen Master George, featuring perspectives from industry professionals including Ralph’s Cocktail from outside Lagos. The sessions will create opportunities for bartenders, hospitality professionals, brands and other industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore greater collaboration across markets.

The Cocktail Village, one of Lagos Cocktail Week’s signature experiences, will also take on a refreshed format in 2026. The popular Bar Battle, previously staged on the second night, will move to the opening day, bringing competition and energy to the beginning of the Cocktail Village experience.

The closing night will become a dedicated Grand Finale, creating a distinct final-night celebration centred on cocktails, participating brands, entertainment and the community that has gathered throughout the week.

Speaking about the vision for this year’s edition, Lagos Cocktail Week Founder, Lara Rawa said:

Africa shouldn’t be working in silos; we should be building bridges. When bartenders from Lagos, Abidjan and Accra share a bar, we’re not just pouring drinks; we’re pouring culture. Africa Pours into Lagos is about creating a space where our talent, ideas and experiences can move across borders, and showing what becomes possible when Africa’s bar community comes together.

Now in its 12th year, Lagos Cocktail Week continues to evolve from a celebration of Nigeria’s cocktail culture into a platform connecting bartenders, consumers, brands and hospitality professionals from across the continent.

And this October, as bartenders cross borders, bars exchange ideas and different drinking cultures meet in one city, Africa pours into Lagos.
