Romain Spitzer Named CEO of Bottega Veneta
Romain Spitzer has been named Chief Executive Officer of Bottega Veneta, parent company Kering announced on Wednesday. He will officially assume the role on September 1.
Announcing the appointment, Kering CEO Luca de Meo expressed confidence in Spitzer’s ability to lead the Italian luxury house into its next phase of growth.
“Romain has the leadership, vision and international experience to unlock the next phase of the house’s development. I am confident he will build on its extraordinary strengths and take Bottega Veneta to the next level,” de Meo said.
Spitzer’s appointment follows a months-long search after former CEO Bartolomeo Rongone announced his departure in January. Rongone stepped down on March 31 after six years at the helm to join Moncler.
He joins Bottega Veneta alongside Creative Director Louise Trotter, whose debut collection in September and second runway presentation in February received strong critical acclaim.
Kering no longer reports the financial performance of individual brands, with the exception of Gucci, following changes to its segment reporting introduced in the first quarter of 2026. However, Chief Financial Officer Armelle Poulou noted that Bottega Veneta delivered the strongest first-quarter growth among the group’s fashion houses. In 2025, the brand recorded a 3% increase in revenue, reaching €1.7 billion.
During Kering’s Capital Markets Day in April, de Meo outlined the company’s vision for Bottega Veneta’s next stage of development, describing it as “scaling without compromising its essence.” The strategy includes raising the brand’s global profile through increased marketing investment, particularly in China, a greater number of fashion shows, and high-impact international events.
The group also aims to more than double Bottega Veneta’s non-leather goods revenue by 2030 by strengthening its costume and fine jewelry categories, while expanding its distinctive gifting and art de vivre offering.
Commenting on Spitzer’s appointment, de Meo added, “Bottega Veneta is one of the strongest and most distinctive houses in luxury, with exceptional craftsmanship, a unique creative identity and remarkable growth potential.”
