Serve Looks, Experience Culture: Why AFWN 2026 Is the Must-Attend Event for Lagos This December
It’s no secret that December in Lagos is all about serving fits, catching vibes, and making memories. This year, there’s one event anchoring the entire lifestyle calendar: Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) 2026.
Riding on the momentum of its sister event, Africa Fashion Week London, Africa Fashion Week Nigeria is taking over Lagos with a multi-sensory spectacle that bridges the gap between style, culture, and entertainment.
Taking place on 12–13 December 2026 at the JRandle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, Lagos, AFWN 2026 will bring together designers, fashion lovers, creatives, media, buyers, influencers and consumers for two days celebrating the creativity and commercial potential of African fashion.
This year’s edition carries the theme “AFRICA NOW — THE FUTURE WEARS AFRICA,” a statement that reflects the growing influence of African creativity on global culture and fashion.
Founded by Queen Ronke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, Africa Fashion Week Nigeria was created as the sister event to Africa Fashion Week London, with a mission to provide African designers with greater visibility and access to international audiences. Since its establishment, the platform has supported more than 3,000 designers and continues to serve as a bridge between African fashion talent and the global fashion industry.
After taking the African fashion conversation to London, AFWN now brings that energy back to Lagos at a particularly significant time of year.
Whether you’re stepping out to see bold collections on the catwalk, hunting for custom resort wear for beach parties, or looking to mingle with the top creators and celebrities in the city, AFWN delivers on every front.
What to expect at AFWN 2026:
- Unseen Collections: Live catwalk reveals from emerging streetwear icons and established couture houses.
- The Style Village: Instant retail access to buy pieces straight off the runway.
- The After-Party Energy: Live music performances, celebrity guest appearances, and dedicated lounge spaces designed for networking.
- And so much more.
If you’re flying in for the holidays or staying local, this is the place to be seen. Mark your calendar and secure your entry before tickets sell out. Designer applications and press accreditation are now open globally. Early access passes and VIP invitations are also available online at www.africafashionweeknigeria.com
