Absent Findings Presented Spring/Summer 2027 Collection: “What’s the Colour of My Voice?”

Absent Findings presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, “What’s the Colour of My Voice?”, at Spazio Lineapelle in Milan on 25 September 2026. The presentation took place as part of the official Milano Fashion Week Women’s calendar, with the support of AFA and in collaboration with Lineapelle.

For SS27, Absent Findings entered a surrealist dream shaped by a strange sense of normalcy. At a time when the world felt increasingly heavy, uncertain, and disconnected from logic, the brand turned inward. Not as an escape, but as a way to create with purpose.

The collection found its emotional centre within the four walls of the studio. This space became more than a workplace; it became a quiet act of resistance. References, drawings, textures, mistakes, and moments of beauty gathered across the walls, reflecting the intimacy of making. There was no need for spectacle or exaggerated statements. Instead, Absent Findings focused on discipline, sincerity, and the simple act of showing up for the work.

Inspired by the surrealist worlds of Leonora Carrington, the costume design of Oskar Schlemmer, Victorian frills, and the structured language of prep uniforms, the collection explored what it means to present oneself with care. Here, uniforms were not symbols of conformity. They became expressions of intention, offering a way to appear in the world with grace, honesty, and beauty.

Throughout the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, controlled silhouettes were interrupted by decorative gestures. Tailored jackets, vests, shirts, and trousers were reimagined with ruffles, gathered panels, trims, and unexpected flashes of colour. These details felt emotional and instinctive, as if romance and theatricality were pushing through the discipline of the garments.

The result was a wardrobe that existed between restraint and expression, between the uniform and the voice within it.

A key part of this emotional language came through the use of heirloom saris, a recurring element in the world of Absent Findings. Across the collection, sari fabrics appeared as trims, accents, frills, piping, and delicate interventions. Rather than being treated as nostalgic artefacts, they were presented as living materials. They brought memory, intimacy, and personal history into the garments.

Set against tailored structures and uniform-inspired codes, these inherited fabrics softened the collection. They carried traces of family, identity, and the quiet weight of what is passed down through generations.

Spring/Summer 2027 also marked a shift in the brand’s visual language. Moving away from the desaturated coolness of previous palettes, Absent Findings embraced colour with new openness. Shades of olive, rust, burgundy, lilac, ochre, muted blue, and deep brown appeared with quiet but deliberate force.

The collection suggested that beauty did not need to be over-intellectualised to be meaningful. There was urgency in allowing joy to exist. Colour, in its simplest form, could make us feel more alive. Darkness and brightness could coexist. One could love Joy Division and still be moved by the visual world of Pink Flamingos.

At Spazio Lineapelle, this vision was brought into physical form, placing garments, imagery, and atmosphere in dialogue in the heart of Milan. Supported by AFA and realised in collaboration with Lineapelle, the presentation marked Absent Findings’ participation in the official womenswear calendar of Milano Fashion Week September 2026.

“What’s the Colour of My Voice?” was a collection about choosing beauty without naivety, discipline without rigidity, and sincerity without spectacle. In a world where things often do not add up, Absent Findings reminded us that making something with care can still be its own form of clarity.
