It is my distinct pleasure to introduce a label that captures the very essence of this transition, a brand that understands that the most powerful statements are often found in the spaces between.

The contemporary fashion landscape is often a cacophony of immediate gratification, yet Absent Findings has carved out a space of profound, intentional silence. Since its inception in April 2025, the Dubai-based house, meticulously conceived in the artisanal cradle of Firenze and inspired by the soulful heritage of India, has emerged as a formidable intellectual force. It is not merely a label; it is a living archive of feeling, a study in how garments can carry the weight of memory, vulnerability, and the quiet architecture of identity.

At the vanguard of this movement is Shivin Singh, a Polimoda alumnus and former strategist within Gucci’s Handbags Department. Singh possesses a rare dual fluency, balancing poetic intuition with a rigorous, hands-on technical mastery that demands respect. His design language is shaped by a fascination with the emotional life of garments, exploring how clothing holds tension, softness, and the “quiet architecture of becoming.” Under his leadership, the brand has moved from a debut to global recognition with a velocity that suggests the industry was hungry for this specific brand of honesty.

The philosophy of the house is rooted in a “stubborn conviction” that sustainability must be synonymous with luxury. Every collection is an exercise in material continuity, utilising at least 70% deadstock fabrics to honour material memory while shaping a sharp, gender-neutral aesthetic. This is not sustainability as a marketing veneer; it is a structural requirement. By repurposing heirloom saris and forgotten textiles, Singh transforms the “void” of discarded materials into the brand’s most powerful form of expression.

The brand’s meteoric ascent reached a fever pitch in February 2026. Making history as only the second brand from the Middle East to showcase digitally on the official Milan Fashion Week calendar, Absent Findings simultaneously delivered a striking runway debut at Dubai Fashion Week. This collection, titled Not What You Think, served as a long-term investigation into repetition and obsession as tools for meaning. Supported by Polimoda, the showcase deepened an ongoing exploration of the sari and the psychology of dress, viewed through a dreamlike, internal perspective.

Massimiliano Giornetti, Director of Polimoda, aptly notes that Singh’s work reflects the kind of critical sensitivity and creative rigour that the institution aims to nurture. This sentiment is echoed by the global fashion press, with the brand already securing prestigious placements in Vogue Italia, WWD, Dazed, and GQ Middle East. Beyond the accolades, the true impact of Absent Findings lies in its refusal to be easily categorised. It exists in the “in-between state,” where the absence of conventional paths becomes the catalyst for creative discovery.
