FJU Talents 26 Celebrates 10 Years of Taiwanese Design at London Fashion Week
FJU Talents returned to London Fashion Week with Fashion Scout, marking its 10th anniversary with a showcase celebrating the past, present and future of Taiwanese fashion and textile design.
Presented by the Department of Textiles and Clothing at Fu Jen Catholic University, FJU Talents has spent the past decade supporting emerging designers from Taiwan, offering them an international platform to develop their practice and present their work to a global fashion audience.
For its 2026 edition, FJU Talents 26 brings together four new voices in Taiwanese fashion, Min-Hsin Yu, Yui Kao, Alison Lai and Ting Hsuan Chang, alongside selected works from designers who have taken part in the platform over the last ten years.
The anniversary presentation reflects the breadth of Taiwan’s emerging fashion scene, with designers exploring themes of identity, desire, belief, gender, memory and the body through experimental fashion and textile practices.

FJU Talents 26 Designers
Min-Hsin Yu

A graduate of Textile Design at Fu Jen Catholic University, Min-Hsin Yu draws inspiration from the contrasting sunsets of Earth and Mars, using colour and texture to explore the multiple facets of individuality.
Through hand crochet and ribbon yarns, Yu translates shifting light into layered textile surfaces, where warm orange-red tones meet deep blues. The collection balances opposing states through delicate craftsmanship and contrasting hues, presenting individuality as something in constant transformation.
Yui Kao

A graduate of Fashion Design at Fu Jen Catholic University, Yui Kao presents Impulse Lover, a collection exploring self-presentation and desire in contemporary romance.
Imagining lovers as products packaged to be desired, Kao uses genderless oversized silhouettes, cord corsets and playful visual codes to reshape conventional ideas around the body. Taiwanese snack packaging, heart-shaped charms and vivid red tulle collide with romantic fantasy, creating a bold and inclusive queer aesthetic driven by humour, provocation and visual excess.

Alison Lai

First selected for FJU Talents in 2019, Alison Lai returns to the platform in 2026 after founding her fashion label (She)nanigans in 2024.
Her latest collection examines patriarchal structures and the gaze upon the female body from a woman’s perspective. Drawing on the surreal world of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, Lai uses deconstructed tailoring, distorted black-and-white stripes and vivid red to create tension between social restraint and female desire.

Ting Hsuan Chang

A graduate of Textile Design at Fu Jen Catholic University, Ting Hsuan Chang presents Cochlea, a collection inspired by parasitised snails and the tension between collective belief and free will.
An imagined religion unfolds through elaborate, ritualistic silhouettes, while inverse-rib knits create distorted optical textures. Blending sacred imagery with unsettling absurdity, Chang uses textile design to question faith, control and individual consciousness.

A DECADE OF DESIGNERS
To mark its 10th anniversary, FJU Talents looks back at some of the designers who have passed through the platform since its launch highlighting the different directions their practices have taken beyond their time at Fu Jen Catholic University.
ALISON LAI / FJU TALENTS 19 @shenanigans.studio
Alison Lai was selected for FJU Talents 2019 and founded her fashion label (She)nanigans in 2024. Inspired by Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days, Komorebi in Bloom captures the fleeting beauty of sunlight through foliage. Through photography, print and Lumen Print techniques, Lai translates these quiet moments into an elegant and contemplative fashion expression.
XIAOMO CHEN / FJU TALENTS 20 @xiao____mo
Xiaomo Chen was selected for FJU Talents 2020 before continuing her studies at Parsons School of Design in New York. Developed later in her practice, Situated Knowledge draws on post-humanism to explore the shifting boundaries between human and object, reality and virtuality, questioning how different perspectives shape our understanding of identity and reality.
ZONG XING LIAO / FJU TALENTS 21 @_stanleyliao_
Zong Xing Liao was selected for FJU Talents 2021. His collection Silence Mode draws on Eastern Zen philosophy and the aesthetics of karesansui, reflecting on the passage of time and constant change. Through minimalist silhouettes, subtle details and a restrained greyscale palette, Liao evokes blurred boundaries and the quiet, contemplative beauty of Zen.
TIMMY CHOU / FJU TALENTS 22 @timmy_chouuuuu
Timmy Chou was selected for FJU Talents 2022. Often drawing inspiration from Indigenous culture, his collectionEmbers evokes families gathering around a fire on winter nights. Elements of traditional tribal dress inform fluid silhouettes and the relationship between fabric and body, expressing a sense of movement, freedom and an unrestrained tribal spirit.
SHUN AN CHEN / FJU TALENTS 24 @wearerottenstrawberries
Shun An Chen was selected for FJU Talents 2024. Inspired by an era shaped by pandemics, conflict and disaster, Black Sheep celebrates those who challenge social conventions and awaken amid uncertainty. Through fashion, Chen explores individuality and resistance, encouraging the courage to break free from constraints and embrace one’s authentic self.
CHIHWEN KUO / FJU TALENTS 25 @wayne_knitted
Chihwen Kuo was selected for FJU Talents 2025 and specialises in knitwear and textile design. He currently runs his own design studio and yarn brand, Wayne Knitted. Through knitting and knotting, his work transforms sedimentation into tactile structures, where each stitch and knot becomes a trace of memory, time and accumulation.
Ten years on, FJU Talents continues to use London as a meeting point for emerging Taiwanese designers and the wider international fashion community, with this year’s showcase introducing the next generation while celebrating those who came before them.
