Homecoming™ celebrates its 9TH Annual Edition with the release of the exclusive Homecoming™ x Nike Air Max TN collaboration with founder Grace Ladoja MBE

RETURNS TO LAGOS THIS EASTER WEEKEND WITH A CELEBRATION OF MUSIC, CULTURE & COMMUNITY, INCLUDING BLACK COFFEE’S LAGOS DEBUT.

HOMECOMING™ announces its ninth annual edition, spanning music, fashion, art, film, and sport. Over the years, the platform has become a defining force in the global rise of African creativity over the past decade, while also serving
as a key entry point for international culture into the continent. HOMECOMING™ has built an undisputed reputation for fostering a global community around Africa’s cultural landscape and its continued evolution.

This year marks a landmark moment: a new collaboration with Nike, unveiling an exclusive Air Max TN co-designed by founder Grace Ladoja MBE, making her the first ever African woman in history to design a Nike shoe. The project reflects a relationship built over more than a decade. Nike was one of Ladoja’s earliest collaborators, forming part of her first professional work as a director, and has remained a consistent presence throughout her career.

“This year feels special, everything is aligned. Ownership, amplification, cultural exchange, that’s always been HOMECOMING™. The HOMECOMING Concept space in Lagos gives us a real home to build from, and the Nike collaboration takes that exchange further. I’ve worked across many of Nike’s projects, so designing my own shoe feels like a full-circle moment and reflects where I believe brands should be in design. Innovation, fun, strong references. To young creatives, keep going and trust your timing. Sometimes you’re just early.Grace Ladoja MBE, Founder, HOMECOMING™

The choice of the Air Max TN silhouette is rooted in personal history. For Ladoja, it represents a formative moment in youth
culture, where trainers functioned as markers of identity, aspiration and status, particularly across African and diasporic communities. The collaboration also marks a major milestone, with Ladoja becoming the first Nigerian woman to design a signature Nike shoe. The HOMECOMING™ Air Max TN will be available in two exclusive colourways: the Pan-African colourway, reflecting unity across the continent and its diaspora, and the orange African Sunrise colourway,
a tribute to the Lagos sunrise, reflecting renewal and forward movement. Each pair features six detachable charms, including the Nigerian map in green and gold, a black planet, the Nigerian eagle, a gold map of Africa, the Homecoming x Nike ‘lucky coin’ and the cowrie shell, historically used across West Africa as currency and
associated with value, exchange and spirituality.

Meanwhile, HOMECOMING™ returns to Lagos this Easter weekend for its annual celebration of African music, culture and creativity. In addition to its groundbreaking Playlist Show and capsule collections with Stussy, Nocta, Billionaire Boys Club, Mowalola, Ambush, Meji Meji, Tia Adeola, Dye Lab, Free The Youth, Waf., Motherland, this year sees the arrival of Patta Running Club in Lagos, extending its global community activation across cities including Amsterdam and Tokyo.

Alongside this, WAF presents the WAF Skate Jam (Go Skate Day), bringing together Lagos’s skate community in collaboration with Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM. Meanwhile, the HOMECOMING™ Cup.

Football Tournament returns as a key moment within the programme, with teams from Patta, Street Souk and Motherlan. For 2026, visual artist Slawn reimagines the pitch through a bespoke design, positioning the tournament as both a sporting and cultural activation.
