
“Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” Is The Met Gala Spring 2024 Exhibition Theme
The 2024 Met Gala date and theme have been announced. This is exciting news as everyone is already anticipating what will unfold at the next 2024 Gala Met.
The Met Gala’s Spring 2024 Costume Institute Exhibition, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” will showcase approximately 250 rare fashion masterpieces from The Costume Institute’s permanent collection. The exhibition promises a cutting-edge blend of curation and technology to present these treasures in an entirely novel manner.

Max Hollein, The Met’s Marina Kellen French Director and CEO, expressed excitement about the innovative approach of the spring 2024 exhibition. The display, spanning 400 years of history, will feature items ranging from a 17th-century English Elizabethan-era bodice to contemporary designs by notable names like Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney, and Connor Ives.

Iconic pieces from designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, and Hubert de Givenchy will be at the center of a curation that seeks to unravel and illuminate the intersection of the natural world with the artistry of dress and textiles.

The lead sponsor for “Sleeping Beauties” is TikTok, with additional support from Loewe and Condé Nast, the publisher of Vogue. The exhibition is scheduled to run from May 10 to September 2, 2024, and will open to the public after the May 6 Met Gala, which serves as the primary source of funding for all Costume Institute activities.
